Auguste Clape Estate

A true benchmark of the Cornas appellation, Domaine Auguste Clape embodies the purest and most traditional essence of Rhône Syrah. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century and brought to its peak by Auguste Clape from the 1950s onwards, the estate is today in the hands of the family, faithful to a style that has remained intact: authentic, profound and timeless.

The vines, located on the steep granite slopes of Cornas , are cultivated with deep respect for the terroir. Vinification is carried out in a traditional manner, using whole bunches and long aging in old casks, without seeking artificial effects or modern techniques.

The result: wines of remarkable intensity, structured, elegant, capable of aging for decades. In their youth, they are powerful and austere; with time, they reveal a fascinating complexity blending black fruits, olive, violet, spices, leather and smoky notes characteristic of granite.
