Description
The 2008 Vinyes Josep cuvée is a tribute to the ancestral traditions of Priorat. Produced at the Mas Hereu family estate in Bellmunt del Priorat, this exceptional cellar-worthy wine comes from Carignan and Grenache Peluda vines aged between 45 and 75 years old. With over 15 years of aging, this 2008 vintage now offers a rare complexity with a noble texture.
The nose reveals a complex and developed bouquet. There are notes of stewed dark fruits, prune, and fig, intertwined with tertiary aromas of leather, blond tobacco, and cinnamon. The smoky minerality of Priorat remains clearly present in the background.
The palate is powerful, structured, and incredibly fresh for its age. The tannins are perfectly polished, offering a silky mouthfeel. The finish is persistent, marked by balsamic touches and an elegant hint of roasting.
