Description

The 2016 Mas Jullien Blanc is the result of a complex blend, composed mainly of Chenin (successfully introduced by Olivier Jullien) and Carignan Blanc, complemented by Clairette, Marsanne, Viognier, and Grenache Blanc.

This 2016 vintage, characterized by an optimal thermal balance, allowed for the harvest of grapes with perfect phenolic ripeness while preserving high natural acidity. Cultivated on limestone terraces with astéries, this wine expresses the quintessence of a high-altitude terroir under Mediterranean influence.

Visually, the wine displays a deep gold color with brilliant reflections. The nose is highly distinguished, mingling aromas of ripe white-fleshed fruit (pear, quince), garrigue flowers, and subtle notes of beeswax and toasted almond. The aging, carried out with precision in demi-muids, provides a rich structure and a full texture, without ever marking the wine with ostentatious woody notes.

On the palate, the 2016 Mas Jullien Blanc is defined by its freshness and depth. The attack is ample and enveloping, but it is immediately followed by a sharp mineral tension brought by the limestone. The finish is masterful, lingering on noble bitters and a salinity that stretches the wine to an impressive length. It is a gastronomic white that combines the power of the South with an almost northern elegance.
