Description
The 2020 Chianti Superiore from Poggiotondo is a blend composed primarily of Tuscany's flagship grape, Sangiovese, accompanied by a touch of Canaiolo and Colorino.
Hand-harvested, 100% destemmed, fermented using indigenous yeasts, and aged in untoasted 54hL casks.
The result is a very lovely Chianti Superiore with an intense nose of violet, red berries, cherry, raspberry, and blueberry.
The palate is ample, leaning more towards tertiary spice aromas, notably black pepper, clove, and a hint of cinnamon. A wine with beautiful balance and great length.
