Zi Filicella Aglianico 2021 - Ciro Picariello

Based in Summonte , in the province of Avellino (Campania), Ciro Picariello is today one of the most respected winemakers in southern Italy. His family estate cultivates its vines at altitude (up to 650 m) , on volcanic soils, using uncertified organic practices, with minimal intervention to allow the terroir to fully express itself.

Zi Filicella 2021 is made from 100% Aglianico , harvested by hand from vines located more than 500 m above sea level .
Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in the same tanks to preserve the integrity of the fruit. No unnecessary additions or excessive filtration: a pure reflection of the volcanic terroir of Irpinia.

Intense ruby ​​red robe. Expressive nose of black cherry , fresh plum , and sweet spices , with a subtle touch of graphite and earth . On the palate, the texture is energetic and juicy , supported by fine and precise tannins . The finish is long, slightly mineral and saline , marked by the freshness typical of mountain wines.
