Organic, Biodynamic
Founded by Sara Pérez (daughter of René Barbier, Clos Mogador) and René Barbier Jr. , the Venus La Universal estate is located in Falset, in the heart of Montsant , Catalonia. This passionate family project is distinguished by its biodynamic approach and a constant pursuit of purity and balance in expressing the terroir. The vines, rooted in schist and clay soils, produce wines that are powerful, profound, and elegant.
The Venus 2007 is made primarily from Garnacha (Grenache) , complemented by Syrah and Carignan (Cariñena) .
The grapes are harvested by hand , fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, and aging lasts approximately 18 months in French oak barrels . No artifice: minimal filtration, minimal intervention, total respect for the raw material.
A deep garnet robe with ruby highlights. An intense and complex nose blending ripe black fruits , violet , spices , graphite , and a subtle balsamic touch. On the palate, the wine seduces with its silky and ample texture, velvety tannins , and a minerality typical of Montsant . A long, elegant finish, marked by fruit and a slightly saline note.
