The wines of Raúl Pérez and his bodega Castro de Valtuille , in the Bierzo region (northwest Spain), are among the most expressive and personal in the country.
They perfectly reflect the artisanal philosophy of the Galician winemaker: absolute respect for the terroir, working with old vines, vinification by plot, and minimal use of wood.

Ultreia , a Galician word meaning “to go further”, is the emblematic vintage of Raúl Pérez.
Blend of old Mencía vines on soils mixing schist and clay, vinified naturally and aged for 14 months in barrels.
The 2012 vintage is a model of balance between maturity and freshness.

Intense nose of ripe red fruits , undergrowth , spices and smoky notes .
Velvety, complex mouthfeel, with supple tannins and a persistent mineral finish.
