Private Selection 2009 - Casa de Mouraz

The Private Selection is the prestige cuvée of the Casa de Mouraz estate, produced only in the best vintages from a selection of plots of old Touriga Nacional and Jaen vines , rooted in granitic and clay soils located between 400 and 500 meters above sea level.
Harvested by hand, vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, this wine reflects the artisanal and biodynamic philosophy of the estate.
The 2009 vintage , warm and ripe, produces an opulent red, concentrated but with exemplary harmony .

Deep nose of ripe black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), violet , sweet spices , blond tobacco and noble wood .
The palate is ample and velvety , supported by fine tannins and a beautiful mineral tension.
The long and persistent finish blends red fruit liqueur , cocoa , and a subtle smoky and balsamic touch.
