O' Pilota Taurasi 2019 - Ciro Picariello

Based in Summonte , in the province of Avellino (Campania), Ciro Picariello is today one of the most respected winemakers in southern Italy. His family estate cultivates its vines at altitude (up to 650 m) , on volcanic soils, using uncertified organic practices, with minimal intervention to allow the terroir to fully express itself.

Taurasi O' Pilota embodies the grandeur of the Aglianico grape variety, often called the “Barolo of the South.” The vines are planted in volcanic and clay-limestone soils. Natural fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by extended aging (24 months) in large oak barrels to soften the tannic structure while preserving freshness.

Deep garnet robe. Profound nose of black fruit , spices , tobacco , leather , and damp earth . On the palate, an imposing structure, tight yet polished tannins, superb balance between intensity and finesse. Long and persistent finish.
