Loï 2023 - Domaine Saladin
Loï 2023 - Domaine Saladin
Côtes du Rhône - Red - 13.5 % - 75 cL
The Côtes du Rhône red "Loï" is a tribute to the nickname of Louis Saladin, father of Elisabeth and Marie-Laurence, and creator of this vintage.
The plots face due south, on a clay-limestone terroir in the Ardèche region, bordered by broom and pine trees, with vines that are 40 years old. The two Grenache (noir and blanc), Syrah and Carignan grapes are harvested entirely by hand and then fermented together using semi-carbonic maceration.
Natural wine with a minimal dose of sulfur (no added yeast, enzymes, tannins or anything else). Aged for 9 months in vats.
The most "southern" of the estate's wines, with its notes of slightly candied red fruits, garrigue, and a touch of blood and smoke...
