Description
The Les Laquets cuvée is the masterful expression of Malbec on the third clay-limestone terraces of Cahors. This wine embodies the qualitative revolution led by Catherine Maisonneuve and Matthieu Cosse, offering a version of Cahors that combines exceptional power with a finesse of texture compared to the greatest Bordeaux crus.
Biodynamic farming, low yields, hand-harvesting, parcel-based vinification, gentle, without unnecessary additives, and all aged for a long 20 months in old and new barrels.
The result is a great wine, with a complex and intense nose of dark fruits (wild blackberry, blueberry) evolving towards violet, liquorice, black truffle, and a fine hint of graphite.
On the palate, the attack is dense, the tannic structure is present but of remarkable velvety quality. The 2019 vintage brings perfect maturity and a persistent finish, carried by a saline freshness that lengthens the wine.
