Description
Sancerre "La Côte" 2019 – Gérard Boulay comes from the famous "Terres Blanches" (Kimmeridgian marl) of the Grande Côte hillside in Chavignol; this single-parcel cuvée is one of the most masterful expressions of Sauvignon Blanc. Produced from old vines over 50 years of age, it is distinguished by a rare depth and density, characteristic of the 2019 vintage.
On the nose, the wine reveals a complex bouquet of ripe citrus, white flowers, and sweet spices, underscored by a smoky and chalky mineral signature. On the palate, the attack is fleshy and generous, immediately balanced by a monumental acidic tension and a salinity that stretches the finish interminably.
Vinified with minimal intervention and patiently aged on lees in used barrels, this high-gastronomy wine will pair wonderfully with grilled lobster, veal sweetbreads, or an aged Crottin de Chavignol. A great white wine for laying down, vibrant and timeless, to be enjoyed between 11°C and 12°C.
