The Dönnhoff Dellchen Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2018 is an exceptional German white wine, from a unique terroir between Norheim and Niederhausen, on the banks of the Nahe.

The Dellchen vineyards flourish on steep slopes of porphyry and melaphyre, interspersed with schist soils and volcanic rock sediments. The steep, south-facing terraces, sheltered by cliffs, provide the Riesling grapes with an exceptionally long ripening period , promoting optimal concentration and maturity year after year.

The nose is aromatic and complex , blending notes of ripe pear, almond cream, candied yellow peach, candied pineapple, anise, and a buttery touch . There are also hints of white flowers and sweet spices , with a mineral finesse characteristic of schist and porphyry soils.

On the palate, the wine reveals itself as rich and elegant , with vibrant tension and remarkable fruit precision . The texture is both round and lively , carried by aromas of dried white fruits and a salty, peppery minerality .

The finish, long and taut , leaves an impression of crystalline purity and a light melted sweetness, typical of great dry Rieslings.
