Description
This cuvée is a wonderful demonstration of the diversity of Casa de Mouraz varieties, with its blend of Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro, Baga, Rufete, Camarate, Trincadeira, Tinta-Roriz, Tinta-Carvalha, and many others.
All these indigenous grape varieties are grown using biodynamic farming, hand-harvested, and then co-fermented using native yeasts.
This 2020 Dão Tinto is intense, with notes of very ripe red fruits and hints of smoke and vegetation. The palate is smooth and luscious, all punctuated by great freshness.
A very nice Portuguese wine, complex and accessible.
After racking, the wine is aged for 8 months in old 500L French oak barrels.
