Dão Tinto 2020 - Casa de Mouraz

This cuvée is a beautiful demonstration of the diversity of Casa de Mouraz varieties, with its blend of Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro, Baga, Rufete, Camarate, Trincadeira, Tinta-Roriz, Tinta-Carvalha and many others.
All these indigenous grape varieties are grown using biodynamic farming methods, harvested by hand and then sent together for fermentation using indigenous yeasts.
This 2016 Dão Tinto is intense, with notes of ripe red fruit and hints of smoke and herbs. The palate is smooth and luscious, punctuated by a great freshness.
A very nice Portuguese wine, complex and approachable.
After draining, the wine is aged for 8 months in old 500L French oak barrels.
