Description
The Coto de Gomariz cuvée is the iconic expression of the Avia Valley terroir. A blend dominated by Treixadura, complemented by Godello, Loureiro, and Albariño, this wine comes from plots cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming on schist, granite, and clay soils. The 2014 vintage benefited from a slow evolution, now offering remarkable complexity and depth.
Visually, the wine displays a brilliant gold color with straw highlights. The nose is complex and mature, blending notes of ripe stone fruits (apricot), dried flowers, and honey, over a very pronounced smoky mineral structure. Aging on lees adds a touch of fresh almond and beeswax.
On the palate, the wine stands out for its volume and freshness. The attack is ample and fleshy, revealing a silky texture perfectly balanced by a persistent saline tension. The finish is long, clean, and leaves a sensation of crystalline freshness with noble bitters and a flinty impression.
