Particularly prized by independent bottlers, the single malts from the Caol Ila distillery on Islay possess a character and versatility that have greatly contributed to their renown.
This Caol Ila stands out as a sure bet among peat lovers. Showing little influence from its aging in ex-bourbon casks, it presents an oily, smoky and iodine profile , supported by notes of charcoal, camphor, and preserved lemons.
Like The Un-Chillfiltered Collection, the whiskies in the Very Cloudy range are bottled from small batches of two to five casks. Reduced to 40% ABV without chill filtration or coloring, they have a rich, highly aromatic profile and a slightly cloudy appearance.
