Around Jonquières 2020 - Mas Jullien

The Autour de Jonquières 2020 cuvée is a masterful synthesis of the various limestone terrace and gravel terroirs surrounding the village of Jonquières. A complex blend of Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Syrah, this wine is the result of demanding viticulture and an intimate knowledge of the vineyard plots. The 2020 vintage, characterized by a classic balance between ripeness and freshness, allowed for the extraction of noble tannins while retaining the aromatic brilliance typical of the Larzac altitudes.

Visually, the wine displays a dark, deep, and limpid ruby hue. The nose is of great complexity, opening with notes of black fruit (blackberry, blueberry) and garrigue (thyme, rockrose), complemented by a smoky mineral backbone and sweet spices. The aging, carried out in large casks and demi-muids, is perfectly integrated, adding volume without masking the purity of the fruit. On the palate, the attack is dense and direct. The structure is defined by the freshness of the limestone, where the power of the South is channeled by a fine acidity and a saline finish.
