Description
Combier Distillery's Absinthe V.S. 1898 is a premium absinthe inspired by an authentic Swiss recipe from the Belle Époque. Created in collaboration with historian and specialist Ted Breaux, this vintage faithfully recreates the style of the great absinthes produced at the end of the 19th century by the C.F. Berger distillery in Couvet, the historic birthplace of absinthe.
Artisanally distilled in antique copper stills, it is crafted from a rigorous selection of aromatic plants: grand wormwood, green anise, fennel, and alpine herbs. It reveals a complex and refined bouquet blending fresh anise, herbaceous notes, wild mint, sweet spices, and a light floral touch.
On the palate, the texture is ample, silky, and perfectly balanced. The anise and medicinal herbs express themselves with finesse, supported by a beautiful vegetal freshness and a subtle bitterness on the finish. Highly elegant, it offers great aromatic length without being overly powerful despite its 65% ABV.
