Saint-Péray - Auguste Clape
Saint-Péray - Auguste Clape
Saint-Péray - White - 13.5 % - 75 cL
An icon of the northern Rhône, Domaine Auguste Clape has embodied the soul of Cornas for several generations. Auguste Clape was one of the pioneers in making the appellation known beyond its borders.
Today, his son Pierre-Marie and his grandson Olivier perpetuate this tradition of excellence: manual work, plot-by-plot vinifications, long aging in old casks.
Auguste Clape 's Saint-Péray is a rare and sought-after vintage, produced from the limestone and granite hillsides located just opposite Cornas.
Composed mainly of Marsanne and Roussanne , it reflects the same seriousness and rigor as the estate's reds — a gastronomic white, ample and mineral.
An expressive nose of ripe pear , white peach , acacia honey and linden flowers , with an almond and smoky touch as it evolves.
The palate combines roundness and tension , supported by a direct and saline minerality. Beautiful length, slightly honeyed on the finish.
